Frequently Asked Questions

Admissions

You can apply through the new Continuing Studies Online Application. Through the portal you will create your application and upload all supporting documents.

All applicants need to submit, at minimum, the following documents:

• Scan of college or university credential (front & back of all pages, in colour)

• Official college or university credential (front & back of all pages, in colour)

Proof of English proficiency

All documents must be final – provisional or unofficial documents will not be accepted. Students may be asked to submit additional supporting documents once their application package is received.

All applicants for the Supply Chain & Logistics program, regardless of country of origin or language of instruction, must submit one of the approved proofs of English language proficiency unless they are from one of the exempted English Language Countries.

Applicants from the exempted English Language Countries must still submit proof that they have completed at least four years of full-time secondary or post-secondary study in English.

You will be given practice interviews with similar questions before submitting your final video interview, and you will receive an information sheet along with your interview invitation.

When you decide to start your formal submission, you will be asked a question and are then provided time to think and organize your response. You then have 90 seconds to record your response. You are allowed to reference notes you may have written down in your preparation time. You will then move on to the next two questions. You will answer 3 randomized questions to complete your interview.

Program

The total tuition costs (including provided textbooks) for the Supply Chain & Logistics PDD program are:

• $25,825 CAD for International student applicants

• $15,750 CAD for Domestic student applicants (Canadian citizens, permanent resident of Canada, and students with refugee status in Canada)

In addition to tuition costs, Langara Students’ Union fees that include your transit pass and extended health & dental plan coverage are charged in each term. Students will receive a summary of their upcoming term fees several months in advance.

The Supply Chain & Logistics program is a two-year full-time program with a set course schedule. Courses are held in-person at the Langara College main campus – some classes might involve an online component, but students are expected to be available to attend scheduled classes on campus from Monday to Friday between 9:00am – 6:30pm.

Terms 1, 2, 3 and 5 will involve in-class instruction, assigned coursework and scheduled exams. Students will have a scheduled term break in term 4 (no classes or program fees), and a workplace practicum placement with local employers in term 6.

We do not currently offer part-time schedules or fully online study options for this program. Students must take their courses and terms of study in the order scheduled in the program plan.

Successful completion of the Supply Chain & Logistics Post-degree Diploma provides graduates with eligibility to apply for the PGWP. The decision on your PGWP application is made by IRCC, not the college or institution, and you are encouraged to review what you need to qualify for the PGWP.

Practicum

In term 6 of the program, students will participate in a mandatory workplace practicum placement with a local supply-chain industry host employer. The SCL program will facilitate the placement for each student, ensuring that it aligns with their field of study. The practicum will last a minimum of 160 hours over 8-10 weeks, with students working up to 20 hours per week at the employer’s company. Practicum placements cannot be longer than four months. Students will receive comprehensive information and guidance starting in term 5 to help them prepare for their practicum placements.
